About the Program
The junior development program is designed to develop and promote the game of golf to children of all ages and levels. Over the past 15 years, Jim has developed a fun and effective program that not only teaches golfing skills but also the correct etiquette and good sportsmanship required to participate in any sport. Safety and making golf fun to learn is of great importance, as well as the motivation of students to help them achieve their highest potential. The program has four different stages for students to progress through. Beginners Stage: Students are introduced to the game and taught the basic swing, chipping and putting fundamentals. They are also taught the definition of etiquette and how it applies to the game of golf. Intermediate Stage: The progression of each students individual swing and the importance of the golf fundamentals from stage one. This stage also introduces additional skills such as pitching and bunker play. Students are also taught basic golf etiquette whilst competing in some fun skill activities. Advanced Stage: This level assists students with their individual swing requirements. Students also take part in a number of skills tests and competitions where they apply their skills and etiquette. This stage will assist in preparing the students game for the golf course. Squad Stage: This is the final stage where we assist students in developing their game and help them set and achieve their goals. At this stage students are encouraged but not forced to play on a regular basis and take part in junior competitions which can be a great motivator for their golfing future. Our latest addition to the program is Golf It Up which is a fun introduction to the game using specialised equipment. The equipment allows us to teach golf on school grounds as well as indoors. For additional information about Golf It Up just go to the website at www.golfitup.com.au
